We have fabricated a multimode interference(MMI)1 × 4 demultiplexer with reduced polarization sensitivity in Inp/InGaAsP. Channel-to-channel crosstalk of the MMI demultiplexer for the transverse electric(TE)and transverse magnetic(TM)modes are <-15 dB and <-16 dB, respectively. The wavelength shifts between the TE and TM modes are less than 0.3 nm.
