The significance of some kinds of "chant" which have come down for long time in Okinawa and Amami Islands was first outlined. By comparison the form of chants and analyses of the used phrases, the chants stated in connection with local religious festivals were considered being formed in older time than "Omorososhi", which was edited in the age of Ryukyu Kingdom. The chants containing old phrases for example "Akawann-no-yonaosi (red boll revolution) " etc. do not exist in the area where the Ryukyu Kingdom ruled powerfully. It should be emphasized that the mysterious formation of the ancient state in Japan could not be solved without application of the chant of Okinawa.
