Near Field Polynomial Expansion for Analysis of Electromagnetic Wave Scattering by Three-Dimensional Dielectric Bodies Using Mixed-Domain MoM

This report includes a new approach for solution of the Tensor-Volume Integral Equation (TVIE) using Galerkin-based moment method (MoM) for three-dimensional dielectric bodies. The near field problem is investigated with adopting thin-wire antenna in proximity of dielectric bodies with rectangular cube shapes. A combination of entire-domain and sub-domain basis functions including three-dimensional polynomial basis functions with different degrees and pulse basis function is utilized for polarization current expansion inside dielectric bodies. A faster algorithm with a suitable accuracy is achieved compared with conventional MoM. Accuracy of the proposed method is substantiated by comparing with different numerical approaches such as point matching method and FDTD method and also by comparing with some experimental data.
