In the previous paper, the probability function of fire spread from a burning building to a neigh-borhood was obtained. The aim of this paper is to propose a simple method for evaluating the probability of fire spread in design processes. A principle of schematic method is based on the following facts ; 1) the fire spread probability is a function of a newly defined variable q, 2) the value of q can be obtained by a simple schematic procedure, 3) it is approximately equal to the probability. Two applications of the above principle of schematic method are proposed for designer.
