Assuming a simple scene consisting of foreground and background objects, we propose a method that can segment each object region for generating a free viewpoint video. In the proposed method, capturing two images with different foci on objects from the same view point, we generate an all in-focus image. By comparing the difference in intensity between three images, we extract each region and reduce error through a simple non-linear filtering. Experimenntal results using both synthetic and real images showed that the proposed method works in adequate accuracy and the error was not much visible in the finally generated free viewpoint video.
