• 現在の小・中・高校における家庭科教育の内容が果して妥当であるかどうかについて検討を行っている。現状の問題点の分析、内容の専門性という立場から研究を行なってきたが、今回は過去の教育の中で行なわれてきたものを追跡することにより、その本質ともなるべきものを歴史的に求めようとするものである。本論文では特に住居について詳述する。現在の家庭科教育の内容を考える上によい比較例を明治の教本に発見した。We are studying whether the contents of homemaking education in an elementary, middle and high schools are adequate or not. Now we consider this problem from a historical standpoint. In this article studied on the contents of texts on household matters in the Meiji era, we found that a considerable amount of materials was related to a dwelling. We take up, in particular, the text by Hamako TsuKamoto as a typical one, because the materials offered in this book are well organized practically by revision of three times, and an arrangement of them gives various suggestions on the selection and arrangement of materials in modern homemaking education. It seems to be clear that the tradition in the Meiji, especially, of educational materials on a dwelling is not succeeded by modern homemaking education. We must make clear, from a historical point of view, what is the essential material in the homemaking education.
