An experimental study focused on the radial scaling of HyBrID (Hydrogen Bromide In Discharge) copper vapor lasers has been carried out by using laser tubes (length 1.2m) of inner diameter 40, 60 and 80mm. The detailed parametric dependence on laser output power with each of the bore tubes is compared under the same operating conditions. 90W of output power was obtained with both a 40 and 60mm bore tube. By increasing the tube temperature, similar high output power can be produced with a 80mm bore tube. Enlargine the tube bore results in a reduction of extractable average output power. It has been found that the output characteristics strongly depend on the tube temperature. Control of the tube temperature is crucially important for efficiently producing high output power. A discussion is presented in which the lasing performance under the difering tube conditions is compared.
