The thermal contraction of multifilamentary Nb_3Sn and V_3Ga superconductive cables and the composite materials, fiberglass-epoxy and cotton-phenolic, was measured from room temperature to 4 K. Both the thermal contraction and the thermal expansion coefficient were tabulated as a function of temperature. The thermal contraction to 4 K of V_3Ga was slightly greater than that of Nb_3Sn. For the composites, thermal contraction to 4 K was 2.8 times higher transverse to the fibers than parallel to them.
