Schottky barrier type solar cells have been fabricated using polyacetylene, (CH)_x as the semi-conductive material. Under illumination from a tungsten lamp source (≃40 mW/cm^2), V_≃0.4 V, J_<oc>≃40μA/cm^2 and F.F.≃0.25 were obtained. The energy conversion efficiency is estimated to be 0.2% relative to the energy absorbed within the depletion region.
