New photorefractive crystal is described which can be easily sensitized to near infrared radition by preillumination to incoherent white light with moderate intensity. The gain factor up to 7 cm^<-1> and the response time down to 10 ms are measured for unexpanded beams of CW radiation of a 1.06 μm Nd^<3+>:YAG laser with 0.5 W output power.
