An approximate method is proposed for the analysis of modified Poiseuille flow in channels with porous walls By the Navier-Stokes equation, a boundary value equation is obtained to derive the pressure on the wall surface from the permeation flow velocity through the wall and axial flow velocity. Perturbative approximate solutions of flow velocity in 2-dimensional channels and circular tubes are derived for low permeation rate systems by extending the Berman method to the case that the permeation flow velocity depends on the axial distance. These equations coupled with the transport equation of the porous wall constitute an ordinary differential equation model to determine the permeation flow velocity, average axialflow velocity and the wall surface pressure. This method givesa refine ment to the previous linear theory of pressure drop, and can be applied to various processes with arbirary boundary conditions of the pressure outside of porous wall.
