A new means of enhancing convolver output has been found. Application of a transverse drift field to an indium antimonide (InSb) film enhances the convolver output, which was taken in the width direction transverse to both the sonic propagation and the substrate normal. This convolver and two surface acoustic wave amplifiers (SAW AMP), made by deposition of InSb films on Y-cut, Z-propagation lithium niobate (LiNbO_3), are integrated and operated at a center frequency of 150 MHz. Preliminary work has resulted in an input-output efficiency of less than -7 dB with this device.
