To make clear the relations among the frequency spectra, the outer diameter to thickness ratio and vibration patterns in a circular ring type thick transducer, its frequency spectra and corresponding vibration velocity distributions are successfully measured with an electrical immittance measuring system and an optical heterodyne technique. The measurements are carried out reducing the outer diameter to a thickness ratio of from 20 to 2, where 4 transducers of Pb(Zr・Ti) O_3 with different inner diameters (outer diameter, 82 mm; thickness, 4.15 mm) are used.
