Thermally Stimulated Luminescence from High-T_c Superconducting Tl-Ba-Ca-Cu-O System : Electrical Properties of Condensed Matter

We have succeeded in observing a characteristic X-ray excited thermally stimulated luminescence (TSL) from the high-T_c superconducting Tl-Ba-Ca-Cu-O system. The TSL glow curve consists of several peaks, indicating that some traps exist in this system, whose wavelength region ranges from the ultraviolet to visible region. Through analyses of the TSL glow peaks, the activation energies of the related traps are found to range from 0.1 eV to 0.3 eV. The cumulative X-ray irradiation time dependence of the TSL intensities has been systematically investigated.
