High-Oxygen-Pressure Synthesis of Superconducting Y_<0.8>Pr_<0.2>Ba_2Cu_3O_8

Heat treatment of Y_<0.8>Pr_<0.2>Ba_2Cu_3O_7 under high oxygen pressure produces overdoped Y_<0.8>Pr_<0.2>Ba_2Cu_3O_<7+y>. The oxygen content 7+y is saturated at 8. Through overdoping, T_c fluctuates somewhat but does not change greatly, and Y_<0.8>Pr_<0.2>Ba_2Cu_3O_8 remains superconducting with T_c=64K. The fact that T_c of overdoped Y_<0.8>Pr_<0.2>Ba_2Cu_3O_<7+y> does not increase to 〜90K is consistent with the model of Pr hybridization with neighboring oxygen atoms.
