This paper describes some possible practical applications of cosmic radiation. One example of this is the measurement of the water equivalent of snow using cosmic-ray-produced neutrons. The technique used in this has also been tried under the ground, where it has a potential use in estimating the moisture content of soil. Another possibile application is in estimating upper atmospheric temperatures from cosmic ray muon components, and this has actually been tried and found feasible. These examples have led us to establish a new field of study - "Applied Cosmic ray Physics".
