To explain the low-frequency dielectric relaxation of many types of materials, the current relaxation phenomenon induced in an inhomogeneous conductor with a spatial distribution of local conductivity is investigated. The nonuniform current density produces the true charge (conduction charge). The origin of the relaxation current is the change of the local electric field with time caused by the conduction charge. It is more appropriate to call this current relaxation phenomenon "conduction current relaxation" rather than the dielectric relaxation, because there is no definite relation between the relaxation current and the dipole moment due to the distribution of the conduction charge. The conduction current relaxation induced in the inhomogeneous conductor having the conduction path structure can simulate the low frequency dielectric relaxation of oxide glass.
