A transient beam-loading theory is developed for extended constant-gradient (XCG) structures, and applied to single bunched beam acceleration, using RF power multiplied by SLAC's energy doubler (SLED). It is shown that XCG structures for constant accelerating fields and maximum energy gain have different beam-loading parameters.
