We investigate the porosity dependence of the ferroelectric domain density and the internal stress of fine-grained (〜 1 μm) BaTiO_3 ceramics using transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and X-ray diffractometry (XRD). The ferroelectric domain density and the internal stress exerted by the neighboring grains of the fine-grained BaTiO_3 were examined to elucidate the effect of porosity on the dielectric properties of BaTiO_3 ceramics.
