Emission of HgBr (B-X) band system and atomic mercury lines have been observed during collisions of N_2(A) with HgBr_2 and also with CH_3HgBr molecules. On the basis of intensity of the most intense band, (0, 22) of the HgBr (B-X) transition, the efficiency ratio of the HgBr (B-state) formation due to N_2(A)+HgBr_2 with respect to N_2(A)+CH_3HgBr collisions has been determined to be 2.3:1.
