We observed 100-MHz-band acoustic emission (AE) signals from a 2-μm-thick ceramic coating layer on a 12-μm-thick polyethylene terephthalate (PET) film using a point focus beam (PFB) transducer. The S/N was about 11 dB. The power spectra of the signals showed peaks at 36 MHz and 70 MHz, which are attributed to the AE energy propagating along the specimen as Lamb waves.
