Dynamic mechanical measurements of a drawn polyoxymethylene are performed by a torsion pendulum apparatus over a frequency range of 1.0 to 0.005Hz at various temperatures in the α-dispersion range. Real and imaginary parts of complex rigidity are measured on each of th the specimens cut out from the drawn sample at various angles with the draw direction. The master curves can be composed from the obtained relaxation curves by performing suitable superpositions. The temperature dependence of real and imaginary parts of complex rigidity shows a remarkable anisotropy in the dispersion region. The anisotropy can be interpretted by the concept of "smearing-out effect" of the crystalline field. The shift factor which gives the amount or horizontal translation along frequency axis does not show any anisotropy in the temperature dependence. Both the shape and the frequency position of the composite relaxation curves reduced to the same reference temperature are almost in accordance with each other.
