Broad line nuclear magnetic resonance measurements were made over a wide temperature range from 77°K. to the melting point for polytetrahydrofuran and poly-1, 3-dioxolane. The NMR spectra showed two components at room temperature, broad and narrow, and these were attributed to crystalline and disordered regions, respectively. At room temperature, second moment of the broad component calculated by separating the narrow one was considerably smaller than that at 77°K. for both polymers. This indicates the presence of the molecular motion in crysralline. Dielectric measurements were also made for poly-1, 3-dioxolane. Two relaxation processes were observed corresponding to the glass transition and the local mode. The dielectric data of this polymer indicates that its molecular conformation is not planar zig-zag.
