The experimental study of luminous flow ahead of sphere under the conditions of high temperature and low density has been made in this report. For spherical cases, same as the cylindrical cases studied in our previous report, the relative thickness is again found to have increased with the decrease in the body diameter, or with the increase in Knudsen number based on the body radius. Some other qualitative observations on luminous far wake behind cylinders in flow at conditions somewhat different from the case of the spheres have also been reported. Those observed profiles of the wake shock front and the viscous wake region are discussed.
