By observing the flux jumping behavior of three kinds of closed-wound superconducting solenoids made of Nb-25% Zr alloy wire, it was elucidated that flux jumping-patterns varied remarkably with the size of a solenoid. The following three points were discussed: the size dependence, upper limit and degradation effect of induced super currents, and relation between the flux jumping in a closed system and quenching in an open system.
