A theoretical study is made of squeeze films between two rectangular and elliptical plates, for the case of an electrically conducting fluid, in the presence of a uniform transverse magnetic field. It is shown that the load capacity and time of approach increases as the strength of the applied magnetic field increases. The results are compared with the case of squeeze films between two infinitely long rectangular plates.
