The Marechal method of aberration balancing was reviewed and applied in the spherical and parabolic reflectors in a previous paper I [Japan. J. appl. Phys. 5 (1966) 310]. The present paper extends the considerations developed in the first paper and shows how one can apply the formulation in various kinds of single thin lenses. A relationship for various types of single thin lenses is derived indicating maximum allowable focal length as a function of field angle for F-numbers and k (type of thin lenses) held fixed, and for various k-numbers and the F-number held fixed. The third- and fifth-order aberrations are taken into account in the method fo aberration balancing.
