The effect of an iron core on toroidal helical magnetic fields is considered. The method of calculation of the perturbation magnetic fields due to the presence of an iron core in the toroidal helical field with the field period of m is presented under the assumption of a cylindrical iron core with an infinite length and infinite magnetic permeability. The amount of the perturbation field in a typical case is less than 1% of the magnitude of the helical field. This method is extended to an axisymmetric case. The calculated amount of the perturbation field due to the plasma ring current is not negligibly small.
