A polarimeter with a conically shaped magnet was designed for the measurement of circularly polarized gamma rays. The performance of the polarimeter was checked by measuring the betagamma circular polarization correlation in ^<59>Fe(475 keV β) and ^<60>Co(310 keV β) decays, and the expected results were obtained. The actual analyzing power of the polarimeter was0.028±0.005 for the circularly polarized gamma rays following the beta decay in ^<60>Co.
