Microcrystals acting as nucleus centres on growing rhombohedral faces of cultured quartz are described and discussed. Circular pyramids nucleated by the attached guest microcrystals on the growing rhombohedral faces of quartz are illustrated. Also described are large number of growth centres provided by a number of attached tiny crystals, a microcrystal initiating growth from each end of it and a growth pattern due to attached microcrystals having close resemblance with that due to Frank-Read source. Most of the attached microcrystals are found to be tiny crystals of quartz. The guest microcrystals get attached onto the host face in random orientations. Influence of the attached guest microcrystals in the growth and development of the host rhombohedral face in particular and the quartz crystal in general is discussed. Creation of new nuclei leading to the formation of microcrystals of quartz in an autoclave is also discussed.
