• The propagation of transverse thermal waves in certain elasticoviscous liquids is investigated. Using Oldroyd-B model for the liquid, it is shown that such waves can propagate unattenuated under certain conditions provided that the liquid is heated from below and that the stress-relaxation time λ_1 is greater than the strain rate-retardation time λ_2. Since for a large class of real elastico-viscous liquids λ_1>λ_2, such waves can be experimentally demonstrated.
