A new apodization problem which is an extension of the previous apodization problem solved by the author is defined and solved. The method used here is a slightly modified version of that used in solving the previous problem. The problem is to find the pupil function which minimizes the dispersion factor subject to the condition that the Strehl definition must have a certain prespecified value.
