Accuracy of the beam-bending method used in viscosity measurements of glass is determined by using electric-melting fused quartz. Average viscosity of ten specimens is obtained as (5.96±0.l6)×10^<12> poise at 1200℃ with the standard deviation of 8%. Limits of specimen dimensions applicable in this method is determined by using Hario 32, one of the most commercial types of glass. The available viscosity range by the method is 10^7 to 10^<15> poise. Viscosity-temperature relation for Hario 32 is given from 500 to 850℃.
