The research on sound source localization has a variety of applications fields, such as medical diagnosis and diagnosis of a structure using acoustic signals, and control of noise. In this paper, an identification of the sound source that is tilted to the observation plane is discussed. By using inverse analysis simulation used the numerical analysis methods with the optimization technique, the three-dimensional location, size and the gradient for the observation plane of the sound source is identified. Three dimensional boundary element methods as the numerical analysis methods are incorporated for evaluating the sound field, and the optimization technique is used a hybrid genetic algorithm which is combined the genetic algorithm with the simulated annealing method. The complex sound intensity measured in the actual sound field is used as a reference data for the optimization technique. As the result, the sound source identified by the measuring values of the complex sound intensity agree exactly with the actual sound source and it is proved to be possible to identify the location, size and gradient of the sound source that tilts to the observation plane.
