There has been increasing interest in the possibility of an environmentally acceptable and economically viable next generation Super Sonic Transport. This will depend in part on achieving a design that incorporate significant technology gain in both supersonic and transonic aerodynamic efficiency. This paper attempts to introduce activities performed in the Japan Supersonic Research Program, focusing on the aerodynamic technologies for wing design and noise reduction etc.
