During the summer 1926,these experiments were carried out at the Teishin-sho laboratory at Tsukiji in Tokyo, and the following results were obtained : - (1)Within the limits of our experimental work, the net frictional resistance could be generally expressed by the formula [numerical formula] (2) The parameters a and b were found unaltered by the temperature of water, so long as the roughness of the surface was kept constant. (3)As the surface was roughened, a increased and b decreased.
