• Computerized tomography techniques have been applied to reconstruct two-dimensional electron density distributions in a vertical plane of the ionosphere from the measurement of the line integral of the electron density. The experimental system consists of radio transmissions from a moving satellite and several receiving stations on the ground. The algorithms for the reconstruction are in the category of the ill-posed inversion problem. The feasibility of the proposed algorithms was examined by numerical simulations. Thereafter,the algorithms have been applied to actual observations, and some ionospheric structures have been reconstructed.
