• Radio astronomy has brought much knowledge about the universe. High sensitivity of antenna-receiver system is the most important requirement in the radio observations. To improve the sensitivity several ideas have been proposed. This report reviews a brief introduction on the radio astronomy and the efforts to develop the high-sensitivity antenna-receiver system. One of the new ideas, the focal plane array receiver using SIS detectors is mentioned to increase the ability of the radio astronomy.
