Correlation length measurements using microwave reflectometry of magnetic confinement devices diverge significantly from ID theoretical predictions. In order to explain this discrepancy and estimate the resolution and sensitivity of correlation reflectometry a 2D model of microwave reflection and scattering by plasma density fluctuations is developed. It is shown that multi-dimensional approximation removes the constraint of low resolution of correlation analysis. A reflectometer-based technique of fluctuation drift velocity measurements is analytically studied. In addition, simultaneous measurements of density profile together with fluctuation amplitude, correlation length and velocity is qualitatively discussed.
