Ozone generation methods using electrical discharge have been considered by means of separating the ozone generation process into the generation process of oxygen atoms(O)and the conversion process of oxygen atoms(O)into ozone molecules(O_3). The ozone generation efficiency is gotten as the product of the O generation efficiency and the conversion efficiency of O into O_3. For low concentration(less than 0.1%)ozone generation, the improvement of O generation efficiency is important for that of O_3 generation efficiency, because the conversion efficiency of O is about 100% under these conditions. For the improvement of O_3 generation efficiency at higher ozone concentration, the improvement of the conversion efficiency of O is more important than that of the O generation efficiency. A multi-stage conversion process is essential for high concentration ozone generation.
