An l = 1 continuous helical coil with substantial pitch modulation placed in axisymmetric toroidal magnetic field makes it possible to obtain a family of the helical-axis configurations with similarity to the Helias for Wenderstein 7-X (W7-X) . For M = 3, 4 and 5 cases, typical aspect ratio is about 7 and magnetic well is formed even at zero beta, where M is the field period number. About one fourth to one third of particles launched at half radius are lost at zero beta; however, both the radial electric field and the finite β effect improve the particle orbit confinement significantly.
