Under the cap-cyclide coordinate system, the stability of a non-circular toroidal sharp boundary plasma, which is surrounded by a perfectly conducting non-circular toroidal wall, is examined by using the energy principle. The analytical results are valid for arbitrary β, arbitrary aspect ratio, and arbitrary elongation of the plasma. The critical β is computed for several aspect ratios and elongation of the plasma.
