Design work is the inverse reasoning process where designers predict the evaluation and modify design valuables. In this study, we followed the actual design process and the inverse reasoning system that derives the design solution from image target was constructed. First, in this system, first, an image target was set in the value space. Second, genetic algorithm was adopted as an optimization algorithm in the solution deriving process; the operation was repeated until the predicted evaluations met the image targets. Finally, the design solutions were proposed. Then, the con'structed system was applied to the shape generation of wineglasses. As a result, various shapes were generated by using the distance from the origin to the image target in the value space as an index. Furthermore, the intended shapes were generated by setting a target in the existing value space. Consequently, the applicable scope of this system was shown and the possibility of design support with this system was also shown.
