• Our group has been developing STEPS (Simplified Techniques for Econometric Planning and Simulations). This system treats the linked economic systems as a network of econometric models, each representing the economic characteristics of a country or a region. We have performed experiments to solve this kind of system not only in a stand-alone environment, but also as a distributed processing system connected by a communication network. We present here the new version named STEPS for WWW (STEPS Web), which utilizes the Internet as the network environment, and WWW as the user interface. We have just constructed its prototype and evaluated its efficiency.
