Urbanization in postwar Japan changed the order of households into the isolation of their members. The major factors are the changes of environment of housing, employment, and so on. They also changed the culture of cooking and meal into using outside services for housework replacement and their information. They asked for various changes of house tradition concerning physical technique for not only cooking and meal, but also dealing with raw material and basic instruments. Today, the changes brought us the attitude of mind how to strike a balance between home cooking and home meal replacement, and how to deal with the information about cooking and meal.
