九谷焼における上絵剥落と釉の熱特性の関係

In KUTANI industry, it has been a serious problem why the overglaze color often peels off from porcelain bodies after muffle firing. In this study, some numerous glazes of different chemical compositions were tested to select the most stable glaze composition. It was found out that the softening temperature of the glaze, which depends on its chemical composition, was one of the most important factors in controlling the peeling off of overglaze color. This means that the softening temperature of overglaze must be higher than the firing temperature of overglaze colors, that is to say, 800℃, so as to avoid any peeling problem. From the result, the range of the most stable glaze composition in Seger formula was as follows; 0.6 KNaO 0.76-0.84 Al_2O_3 5.5-6.5 SiO_2 0.4 CaO SEM observations support this result.
