• The High-Vision TV gallery system introduced to the Museum of Fine Art, Gifu, in April 1989 employs still pictures presented on a high definition television screen. As such, it has commanded the attention of many quarters, being the first attempt of its kind in the world. At the same time, the system was rated highly as a new approach to an museum education. In this paper, the writer intends to discuss the active utilization of high-definitionTV technology by using the case of the Museum of Fine Art. Gifu, as an example.
