This paper discusses how Portfolio and CALL (Computer Assisted Language Learning) will impact on the students' learning process and attitude. In this context, the term "Portfolio" refers to all kinds of resources and works which students undertake throughout the classroom activities (such as note-taking and filling-in worksheets). Research was conducted twice (at the beginning and end of the semester) and their responses towards questionnaire items were carefully analyzed. Comparing their answers between the pre and the post researches, there was a significant difference concerning how they minimize the learning anxiety and push themselves forward to be more successful learners; (Pre) They have a zeal for improving their English ability, BUT they assume; * More or less, Japanese are not good at learning English as non-natives, * Learning English is rather painful and difficult, due to a lack of confidence, * They can't even afford paying attention to the cross-cultural differences. (Post) Learning English is NOT always difficult as; * There are several ways to learn English via CD-ROMs or videos, * They can do whatever they want, without overly depending on teacher's advice, * Learning English is closely connected with some cultural aspects of English speaking countries, and it also reflects their indigenous culture. The combination of Portfolio and CALL helps to promote learners' autonomy and positive awareness, by giving them a freer atmosphere and responsibility as well. This positive effect works a great deal on encouraging the learners to be more independent, and giving them satisfaction as they are highly expected to achieve their own goals.
