Cooling Time and Predicitive Equation for Estimating Hydrogen Diffusion in CTS Test Welds

In this paper the cooling time from which hydrogen content after completion of welding CTS specimen can be predicted has been investigated. From experimental data on CTS test welds, the cooling time t_<150> from solidification to 150C has been found best as a thermal factor linking the hydrogen content in a CTS specimen at 100C. By comparing experimental data with predicted values, a predictive equation for cooling time to 150C for CTS specimen from welding parameters and cooling conditions with an error of ∿15% has been proposed.
