The principle, hypotheses and problems of the fluid inclusion geothermometry is introduced. The relation between the formation temperature and filling temperature of fluid inclusions is discussed. Concerning with the pressure correction of filling temperature, the pressure-specific volume-temperature (P-v-T) relation and the critical point of water are explained. As the methods of fluid inclusion geothermometry, the heating-stage microscope method and decrepitation method are also explained.
